Pilar Andújar, of Almoradí, Alicante, Spain began her dance training at the early age of seven at Josetta García’s Academy.

She graduated with a superior degree in Spanish Dance and Flamenco from the Royal School of Dance in Madrid. She also received a degree in Classical Dance from the Conservatory of Alicante and a Master of scenic Arts from the University of Juan Carlos I in Madrid.

In 1994, she moved to Madrid where she improved her studies in classical ballet, Spanish classical dance, folklore, flamenco and vocal technique and cante at Amor de Dios.

From then on she danced in the tablaos of Madrid and venues like: El Café de Chinitas; Corral de la Morería; Villarosa; Al-andalus; Casa Patas; Suristán; Florida Park. She has also performed at Alegrías of New York.

She has been a member of the following dance companies: Antonio Gades; Luisillo; Teatro de Danza Española, Blanca del Rey and many others.

As a soloist she has performed in the company of Carlota Santana Flamenco Vivo (U.S.A), Yuriko Yoda (Nagoya-Japan), and in the Riverdance Show (England and Ireland).

She has performed as an invited artist with her own show at the Instituto Cervantes in Istanbul (Turkey), the International Festival of Baltic Ballet at the Latvian National Opera House in Riga (Latvia), the Spanish Embassy in Sarajevo (Bosnia), and the Spanish Embassy in Hanoi (Vietnam).

As a choreographer for the company of Carlota Santana Flamenco-Vivo she created: ‘Palillos y Pies’; ‘Aires flamencos’; and ‘Carmen.’ These creations toured across the most important theatres in the U.S.A. such as the Discovery Theater in Anchorage (Alaska), The Egg in Albany (New York), the Music Center in Strathmore (North  Bethesda-Maryland), the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and the Joyce Theatre in New York to name a few.

For the company of Yuriko Yoda in Japan, she completed the following choreographies: ‘Carmen’; ‘Ama’; ‘Zerda’; and ‘Mrs. Macbeth’.

She has also made the choreography and scenic movement for the following theatre plays:‘Sainetes’ and ‘La Comedia nueva o el Café’ directed by Ernesto Caballero for the National Classical Theatre Company; ‘No puede ser el guardar a una mujer’ directed by José Bornás for the International Theatre Festival of Almagro; ‘En el nombre de Alá’ directed by José Bornás at the Amaya Theatre in Madrid; ‘Second life’ directed by Aitana Galán at the Galileo Theatre in Madrid; ‘Apocalypse Now!’ directed by Nacho Sevilla at La Chocita del Loro and Teatro Arenal in Madrid.

Her other choreographies include the advertising campaigns of ‘Alfa Romeo’ at Ifema (Fair Institute) and ‘Terra’ at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

She has been actress in English and dancer for the plays “BOOM for real” and “La Palabra” in Paper chair company. Actress in English also for the short film “Breaking the course” directed by Craig Nigh.

She has been nominated for Best Actress in drama in 2013 for the B Payne Iden Awards in Texas.

Singer and dancer for the Atash Band Band at the Dougherty Arts Center Theater, Stateside Paramount Theater or St. Stephen’s Episcopal Theater (Austin-Texas) among others.

He danced at the Opera Carmen directed by Franco Zefirelli at the Verona Arena (Italy) and at the Opera “Don Giovanni” directed by Lluís Pascual at the Teatro Real in Madrid.

She has also appeared in the Spanish operettas: Jugar con Fuego; Pan y Toros; La Chulapona; La Rosa del Azafrán; El Asombro de Damasco; La leyenda del beso; Una noche en la Zarzuela; Doña Francisquita. Many of the plays produced by the Teatro de la Zarzuela toured across the country in some of the most important Spanish theatres like the Maestranza Theater in Sevilla and the Campoamor Theater in Oviedo. In the Palau de les Arts of Valencia she danced in ‘La Bruja’ and in the Palacio de los Deportes de Madrid she danced in ‘Viva Madrid.’

On TV, she has appeared as the main character of the Osborne commercial in Dusseldorf (Germany) and has participated dancing in the TVE special ‘New Year’s Eve Show’ with the comedians Cruz y Raya.

As a teacher she has given Spanish dance and flamenco workshops in Spain in such places as the Professional Dance Conservatory of Valencia and Alicante, The Cultural Institute Joaquin Chapaprieta Torregrosa in Torrevieja, in Alicante´s University and Merche Esmeralda Studio in Madrid among many others.

Internationally in the Ballet Hispánico of New York, in Punto Flamenco in Milan, in the studios “Dance Sport” (North Carolina-USA), Institute of Spanish Dance of Ziva (Washington-USA), or Yuriko Yoda ( Nagoya-Japan) for 7 consecutive years.

Currently, Pilar Andújar has presented her first album “Andró” which was nominated in seven categories in Min Awards-18 (Independent Music in Spain) as best revelation artist, best album or best song  ““At the last minute”  among others. The song “La última palabrita” won the first prize in the songwriting competition Nubo Film production.With this album he has toured Algeria (Orán and Alger), Mejico (Morelia and Guanajuato), Turkey (Ankara and Istanbul), the United States (Texas and Arkansas) and Spain. 

It has taken his music to places like:

-The Maghreb hall of Oran in Algeria

-METUART Music Festival at The University of Ankara- Turkey

The Arts Center of the Ozarks Theater in Springdale, Arkansas

-Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut.

At the same time She premiered the work of Flamenco Theater “Abrazo” at the  Principal Theater in Alicante on September 8, 2017 and it toured around different cities in Spain..

The US has granted her due to his curriculum and 15 years working in the country, “The green card” or American Residence for artistic records.

Her fusion of traditional Flamenco with New Flamenco has been called “Imperious, Dominant and Individual” by the New York Times of New York.

She is currently preparing the second album named “El salto”- “The Jump” that it will be released in January 2021.
